NARCISO RODRIGUEZ - FW, 2012.
This one actually has decent quality. This collection was fantastically delicious! Photo stills coming soon…. LOVE.
This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.

TIMO WEILAND - FW, 2012.
Again, the quality of my Droid’s video SUCKS. However, this collection was fantastic. Too bad they all look like ghosts because of the lighting. Again… iPhone, here I come.
EMERSON - FW, 2012.
So, yeah… I’ve pretty much decided to switch to iPhone based on the crappy video quality of my HTC Droid Incredible II. This was a decent show. Not my favorite. However, it was nice to see Kelly Cutrone in person again. ;)
The wait is over! My top picks of 2011 finally here (two months overdue, I know)…

Timo Weiland SS12 /// Backstage - Part 1
So, at the ripe old age of….nevermind, I finally saw my first NYFW show, and I have to say…it was pretty incredible. From the vantage point of backstage, it was quite an experience watching interns organize frantically while hair and makeup did last minute touch-ups. Timo and Alan themselves went up and down the line making sure each model was styled correctly. All of this was happening while production was barking orders at the press to stop clicking when their time was up, and security was ushering people all over the tent.
I most certainly felt like a fly on the wall…especially when the models (um, who mostly high school freshmen and sophomores) give you an occasional odd stare or half-smile wondering who the hell you are while people are either clicking photos or touching their hair or clothes.
Overall, the energy was incredible…and the power combo behind the brand Timo Weiland looked overwhelmed, excited, and thankful. I could feel their relief when all their hard work came to fruition.
It was a blast, and I can’t wait for the next!
Artist Watch 2011: Yuck —
Brace yourself. The first hint of a ‘90s alterna-rock revival has hit the UK like a shoegaze tsunami. Who’s at the forefront of the latest retro-wave? London-based Yuck evoke the spirit of 1993 by channeling the sound of bands gone-by like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., The Breeders, The Lemonheads, Teenage Fanclub, etc (I could go on for days). Their self-titled debut was released in February, and is a fantastical journey through a nostalgic soundscape almost forgotton (key tracks are “Rubber”, “Georgia”, and “Holing Out”). They are currently in the midst of a US tour, so check out their Myspace page for specific dates (New Yorkers— they play Webster Hall on 4/25). Dig up those flannels and Doc Martens and enjoy!

Artist Watch 2011: Chapel Club
Formed in late 2007, London-based Chapel Club has risen in popularity over the past few years in the UK due to its cooing reminiscent sound of bands like My Bloody Valentine. The group’s name was chosen for vocalist Lewis Bowman’s interest in religion and religious imagery, as well the band’s rehearsal space proximity to St. Luke’s Church on London’s Old St. By late 2009, they promoted their own gigs and gained a residency at Shacklewell Arms pub in Dalston, East London, which led to subsequent media attention and record label interest. As they gained momentum in 2010, NME named them one “one of the most exciting new prospects,” and their debut album, Palace, was finally released a few weeks ago. “Surfacing” was originally intended for release in late 2009, but the band encountered some copyright infringement issues with the lyrics “Dream a Little Dream of Me.” The song was also featured in Topman’s A/W 2011 show in London a few days ago. Enjoy!

With New Year’s Day officially thirty-one days behind us, I can’t help but think of the band who’s shaking the UK music scene to its foundation…..with their single “New Year’s Day.” In the watered-down synth-infused recycling of 1980s new wave that has dominated indie music over the past decade, a feeling of wanting to rock again has resurfaced. The UK’s latest export Brother gladly respond to your head-banging impulse. Not since the Britpop wars of Blur and Oasis has Anglo-pride been so popular than with this group of badass lads from Slough. Naming their own sound “Gritpop,” their unique style and popularity in the UK has brought attention to other bands within Britpop-inspired genres. And let me tell you… Slough is gritty indeed (I stopped there on a train ride during my study-abroad in the UK thirteen years ago. It’s hard to believe that these guys were about ten-years-old when I was there). Being attractive also helps the band’s momentum…especially the drummer. YOWZA. Enjoy!
